It’s that time of year when we have to prune the trees around the farm not only to make it look neat but to allow more sunlight into the undergrowth and gardens.
This year it was quite a mammoth task as you can see form the snap below but after a hard day’s work by our devoted team we were nice, neat and tidy again! Pruning comes but once a year!...and for that we are very thankful!!

A tree's dormant season is nearly always the greatest time to trim or prune it. Although you can prune a pine tree at any time, it is best to do it when it is in its dormant state. The sole exception is when there is a danger. Make a careful assessment of the size of the branch you'll be removing. It's fine to remove it if it's smaller than five centimeters in diameter. You might not want to do it if it is between five and ten cm in diameter. In the case of anything more than 10 cm in diameter, you should only do so for a very good cause.
