All the blogs at the moment seem to be about the animals that stay on the farm with us! But how could we let slip the wonderful news that Nouy delivered 3 days ago on the 11th February at 2.00 pm. So everyone took an extended lunch break to witness the arrival of Noah jnr!....and to everyone’s surprise he’s not pink like his parents but a light brown with white socks! He has big floppy ears and gangly legs! Within 10 minutes of being born he was standing and within 30 minutes had found the nearest mud pond! From the size of his feet and knees he will grow-up to be a big buffalo and have a long, happy life with us here on the farm….Noak’s Ark!

Happy Birthday, Dang! Our Dang celebrated his 9th birthday yesterday. Dang translates to ‘Red’ in Thai because when he was born on the farm in 2006 he was a rich, deep-red colour. We think that his father must have come from fighting bull stock as Dang has wide shoulders all those tough 'I'm the boss' attributes! In cow years Dang is a sprightly 33 years old with a natural life expectancy of around 70 years old (20-25 human years). His mother, Dot, still graces the farm as well and we think that she must be in her mid 40’s now! I was there when Dang was born and together with Khun Liam we are the only ones he actually allows to give him a birthday hug! However, that said Dang and Bongo grew up together and have a special bond…in fact our Dang is one very special cow! Happy Birthday Dang...and many more to come! |
