Here’s young Nok (Thai for Bird!) A Brown Hawk Owl (or could possibly be A Brown Fish Owl!) who ended up in the pasture near the lake after the strong winds that we had experienced over the past few days obviously exhausted him! He was unable to take-off again but was quite unperturbed when I found him. Careful of that sharp beak and those lethal talons he happily perched on a wooden farm sign. By the look on his face it seems that he is already the Boss!
He’s now recovering in a cosy cage and being fed on (supermarket!) chicken. We’ll take care of him until he reaches adulthood and then release him back to the jungle. I was going to say that it would be nice if he hung around the farm but on second thoughts with all our baby chickens and Guinea Fowl and even Oscar the cat, Nok is unquestionably better off being reunited with the birds!
