Life On Our Farm

Farm Drive-way Extension

30/6/2013

We have just finished extending the driveway to along the upper lake-side. This now gives us dry and firm access to the Lake Sala and even the Thai Kitchen!

At the same time we have landscaped the lakeside area where we pitch the tents. It looks even better than expected and once grass has grown on it's banks it will merge well into the field but give us dry access especially during the wet season which is almost upon us.

So on your visit or stay with us at the farm you can now go out in the rain and not have to worry about getting your footwear all muddy.

New Fencing For The Farm

22/6/2013

All the old bamboo fencing has been replaced with our own unique idea of wide circumference natural bamboo lateral fencing inter-dispersed with long lasting simulated teak verticals….what a transformation!....and hopefully durability. We think that the horizontal bamboo poles will last a minimum of six years and very easy to replace from our own bamboo. Previously we were having to renew the flimsy bamboo fencing every year due to climate and because the cows and horses trample it!

It’s very practical and we think that is looks good for the farm.

Leaping Fish in Our River At The Farm

15/6/2013

It that’s time of the year, just before the rains, that fish in the river that flows through the farm migrates further upstream to spawn. I took some snaps last month a few kilometers further up the mountain and actually witnessed fish leaping the waterfall!

You have to be very quick on the shutter button to catch the action, so remember that camera if you are planning a farm-stay with us or even just dropping in for the day. Either way, we hope to welcome you to the farm soon.
