This post is for someone special who has always had a soft spot for Geckos!!
About three weeks ago Joy was sweeping The Farm House and just as she was about to empty the pan into the bin she saw a tiny Gecko’s egg. Not that this is at all uncommon and we just leave them to hatch in their own time…but this little egg looked so vunerable that I put it into a small plastic container with a piece of foam for it to rest upon. It has sat on my desk for the best part of two weeks and I was about to discard it when yesterday out the corner of my eye I saw the egg roll across the container, a minute later it did it again…within a few seconds this tiny head with very big eyes appeared, had a quick look around and then darted-off to behind the Buddha image on the wall! Later, leaving some crumbs nearby, this little miracle of nature sneaked out from behind the Buddha for his first meal! We call this little fellow Greg!....but as all the Gecko’s look identical they will all be called Greg in the future!
